EMMA CLENDENAN

Singer/Songwriter

Raised in Port Carling, Ontario, singer-songwriter Emma Clendenan has been entertaining local audiences at a variety of venues and events in and around Muskoka since 2014. Her musical repertoire is diverse, but her main influences include artists such as Ed Sheeran and Jim Cuddy/Blue Rodeo.

Emma brings with her an extensive musical background including training on flute, piano, ukulele, and her primary instrument - guitar - as well as many years of choral experience. In 2017 and 2018 she was awarded a spot as a first soprano in the prestigious Canadian International Schools Music Festival (CISMF) choir performing at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto.

In April 2019 Emma released her debut single “Too Much” on all the music streaming platforms, followed by single "Never Saw it Coming" in early 2021 and debut EP "Say It's Me" in February 2022. In 2024 she made her Canadian radio debut with her breakout single "Strugglin", which focuses on mental health and continues to resonate with listeners around the world. She has performed at a wide variety of festivals, markets, restaurants and other events, and continues to be a featured musician at the annual Bala Cranberry Festival, opening for Nashville artist Manny Blu in 2019 and performing multiple years as a solo artist. Emma is also a house musician at Crossroads Restaurant in Rosseau, and has received praise for her performances from notable Canadian icons Arlene Dickinson and Martin Short.

Emma’s passion for music and the arts has inspired her to become a regular leader and spokesperson for music in the community with an ongoing vision of bringing together music and wellness. She is the founder of Rhythm for Rosseau, an annual fundraiser concert in collaboration with Rosseau Lake College and the Ruth Dare Health Clinic (Rosseau Nursing Station) that has raised over $8,000 in support of rural and remote medicine since its inception in 2017. She was also responsible for the development of a choir at Rosseau Lake College; one that she directed, created arrangements for, and participated in leading to a successful Bronze ranking at the Northern Ontario Music Festival in 2018. She was recognized for her contributions to music in the community as a nominee at the 2018 Bobby Orr Celebrating Youth Awards ceremony in Parry Sound, Ontario. Emma continues to lend her voice through ongoing collaboration and songwriting workshops with Rosseau Lake College, as well as performances in support of the West Parry Sound Health Centre (WPSHC). Her unique sound and diverse variety of music lends itself to both public and private events as she continues to play, write for, and entertain audiences of all ages.
